Hunyuan Astragalus

  Hengshan Mountain Astragalus, also known as "Zheng Beiqi," is rich in saponins, flavonoids, polysaccharides, and other chemical components, far exceeding those of similar Astragalus from other regions. Therefore, Hunyuan County, the location of Hengshan Mountain, enjoys the reputation of "Hometown of Astragalus." Hengshan Mountain Astragalus is characterized by its thick and long, uniform and straight taproot, tender and unbranched skin, and bright yellow color. The central xylem is golden yellow, and the cross-section resembles a chrysanthemum, thus called "Golden Well, Jade Rail, Chrysanthemum Core." It has a cultivation history of over 500 years and was once designated a tribute to the imperial court during the Qing Dynasty. It has the effects of invigorating qi, strengthening the body's defenses, promoting blood circulation, strengthening the spleen, consolidating the body's defenses and stopping sweating, promoting fluid production and quenching thirst. It is not only widely used medicinally, but also can be used as an ingredient in stews, wines, dishes, and soups to strengthen the heart, invigorate qi, protect the liver, and strengthen the spleen.
