Shenxi National Wetland Park

Shenxi National Wetland Park was included in the first batch of provincial wetland parks in Shanxi Province in 2009 and was approved as a national wetland park pilot unit by the former State Forestry Administration in 2013. Shenxi Lake boasts gushing springs and rippling blue waves; the famous "Shenxi Night Moon" landscape is one of the eight ancient scenic spots of Hunyuan. The Lǜlǚ Temple Shrine in the wetland, built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, is a national-level cultural relic protection unit. Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient dwellings, Fengshan Academy, Fengming Pavilion, and other historical remains, along with the numerous ponds, reeds, fish, and the green trees and lotus flowers along the banks, create a unique water town landscape in northern China, complementing Hengshan Mountain in a harmonious blend of famous mountain and beautiful water.
