On May 9th, after several hours of continuous rain, the temperature on Hengshan Mountain dropped to around -3℃. From 9:40 am, snowflakes began to fall lightly on the peak of Hengshan Mountain and parts of the Hengshan Mountain temple complex, Tourists, after the beginning of summer this year, witnessed the extremely rare spectacle of "snow covering peach blossoms."

That day, the snowflakes, like goose down yet light as catkins, fell gently on the peach blossoms without melting. From afar, it looked like a scene of red adorned with white; up close, it resembled a face powdered with frost. The entire Hengshan Mountain seemed to instantly enter a dreamlike world. The white snow also covered the lush pines and cypresses, and the originally vibrant green mountains resembled a breathtaking ink painting.
Tourists strolled through the snow, watching the snowflakes gently fall on the eaves of the ancient temples, experiencing the tranquility and sanctity of the mountains, and recording these beautiful moments with their cameras. Some tourists said that this "summer snow" provided a rare travel experience that left a deep impression.

According to reports, the sight of "snow covering peach blossoms" is extremely rare, a phenomenon caused by a sudden cold current and backflow of air, resulting in a sudden drop in temperature in the mountain and the subsequent snowfall on the peach blossoms. In the 1980s and 1990s, Liu Yujun, chairman of the city's Photographers Association, and Tong Yongjiang, chairman of the Hunyuan County Photographers Association, both photographed the rare spectacle of "snow covering peach blossoms" on Hengshan Mountain, and their published works were highly acclaimed.
