Mu Yanfei won the third prize in the Shanxi Provincial Tour Guide Competition

Recently, our city commended and encouraged the award-winning contestants who participated in the 4th Shanxi Provincial Tour Guide Competition. Three contestants from Datong City were among the top 10 in the province, with Mu Yanfei, a tour guide at Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area, winning third prize. Other outstanding contestants from our city, Liu Haotiana and Zhao Xinyu, won second and third prizes respectively.

Recently, our city commended and encouraged the award-winning contestants who participated in the fourth Shanxi Provincial Tour Guide Competition. Three contestants from Datong City were among the top 10 in the province, with Mu Yanfei, a tour guide at Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area, winning third prize. Other excellent contestants from our city, Liu Haotiana and Zhao Xinyu, won second and third prizes respectively.

From December 9th to 12th last year, the fourth provincial tour guide competition was held in Taiyuan. The Datong City team, selected by the Datong Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, achieved excellent results, with all 16 contestants ranking within the top 30. Among them, 3 contestants were among the top 10 in the province, 7 won the Best Style Award, 6 won the Excellent Contestant Award, and the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism won the Best Organization Award.

This competition was hosted by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Provincial Women's Federation. The theme was "Following the Monkey King to Tour Shanxi, Showcasing the New Style of Tour Guides." It aims to promote high-quality development of the provincial tourism industry, encourage tour guides to improve their quality, and establish a positive image for the tourism industry. The competition included six competition units: theoretical test, hometown recommendation, hot topic discussion, tour guide script creation, on-site simulated group leadership, and thematic speech. It comprehensively assessed tour guides' comprehensive quality, group leadership skills, and adaptability. More than 200 industry elites from 11 cities and prefectures across the province participated in the competition.

Our county had 4 contestants participating in the fourth Datong City Tour Guide Competition. Mu Yanfei advanced through to the provincial competition and achieved excellent results. The other 3 contestants did not advance past the city competition.

Mu Yanfei graduated from Taiyuan Tourism College's Tourism major in 2006. After graduation, she has worked as a tour guide at the Hanging Temple and other sites, exhibiting passion, dedication, and a strong desire to learn. She has participated in several CCTV interviews and filming related to the Hanging Temple. In recent years, she has also showcased her talent as a tour guide at Hunyuan Ancient City, Huangqi Culture Park, and the Hunyuan History Exhibition Hall, demonstrating the qualities and style of an excellent tour guide.

In addition, the Datong Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism recently issued a commendation announcement for Mu Yanfei and 16 other excellent tour guides, as well as 4 gold medal mentor tour guides, including Cui Zhan. The announcement expressed hope that the commended tour guides and mentors will cherish their honors, remain humble, continue to play a model role, continuously improve service quality in their future work, and provide tourists with a better tourism experience. All tourism professionals in the city should take them as examples, strive to improve their professional skills and service levels, actively contribute to the development of Datong's tourism industry, and promote the development of Datong's cultural tourism industry to new heights.
