Zhao Yuqing presided over the county-wide analysis and summary meeting on cultural, tourism, and festival activities during the summer vacation, National Day, and Mid-Autumn Festival.

On the evening of October 10, Zhao Yuqing, Secretary of the County Party Committee and County Governor of the People's Government, presided over a county-wide meeting to analyze and summarize the summer holiday, National Day, and Mid-Autumn Festival cultural and tourism efforts. The meeting provided a comprehensive review of the region's performance during this period, highlighted valuable lessons learned, thoroughly examined both achievements and existing challenges, and collectively mapped out the next steps for future development—working together to pool wisdom and strength toward the county's vision of building "Five Hearts and Five Places."

Yang Qiongsheng, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee; Zhou Hua, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee; Li Yuexin, Director of the County People's Congress Standing Committee; Li Qizhong, Chairman of the County CPPCC, and other county-level leaders attended the meeting.

Zhao Yuqing praised the achievements made in cultural and tourism efforts across the county during the summer, National Day, and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays. Zhao Yuqing emphasized the need to firmly establish the philosophy that "focusing on culture and tourism means boosting the economy and driving industrial growth," while adhering to strategic planning guidance. He urged a strong focus on the Hunyuan cultural and tourism industry development plan, vigorously implementing transportation network initiatives to ensure seamless connectivity, particularly along the Rongwu Expressway. Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area At the south exit, the construction of the Hengshan Mountain Southern Visitor Center will help ease the pressure on the northern visitor center, while also boosting the development of rural scenic areas such as Longpanyu, Qianfaling, Dong Hulu Tou, and Po Dui Jiu. Additionally, plans are underway to implement a cable car system on the backside of Hengshan Mountain, creating a seamless transportation network connecting the front and back sections of the mountain. To further enhance the area's appeal, a comprehensive package of projects will be vigorously pursued, including nighttime tours of the Hanging Temple, the development of the Taohuayu Training Institute in Taohua Valley, the construction of a vibrant food street, and the establishment of traditional folk culture complexes. Efforts will also accelerate urban renewal initiatives and the preservation planning of historic residences. Meanwhile, regulations will be refined and improved—such as guidelines for adopting cultural relics, incentives for cultural and tourism-related activities, and management practices for guesthouses—to ensure strict enforcement against illegal constructions and unauthorized temporary structures. All these measures aim to enrich public service facilities, shifting the focus from isolated "check-in" attractions to a well-integrated, system-based operational model. By doing so, we can transform fleeting visitor interest into sustained economic growth, turning transient foot traffic into a robust consumer-driven engine that revitalizes and ignites the ancient city.

Zhao Yuqing emphasized the need to focus on project development, accelerating the Hengshan Mountain infrastructure upgrade project, speeding up the renovation of the county’s transportation network, and attracting more tourists to the ancient city. Additionally, he urged the scientific planning of a range of cultural and tourism initiatives—including EOD projects, digital preservation of cultural relics, sports activities, and RV campgrounds—to sustain the booming momentum of the cultural and tourism market. He also encouraged deep exploration of unique resources such as intangible cultural heritage, performing arts, and hot springs, while simultaneously developing winter-themed cultural and tourism offerings to create innovative consumption experiences and ensure that "off-season periods are slightly less quiet." Furthermore, leveraging scenic spots like Longpanyu Valley and Shenxi Wetland, Zhao called for the development of distinctive ice-and-snow attractions and activities, helping to invigorate the region’s ice-and-snow consumer market. Finally, by building on the success of Hunyuan Village Evening, he advocated for comprehensively enhancing rural communities’ sense of cohesion, unity, and overall cultural sophistication—using authentic, locally rooted rural culture to drive industrial revitalization and ultimately achieve all-around rural rejuvenation.

Zhao Yuqing emphasized the need to adhere to the "tourist-centric" philosophy, comprehensively enhance service quality, standardize scenic area service protocols, elevate urban management levels, and improve the humanized services offered at visitor centers and in Hunyuan Ancient City. It is crucial to fully leverage the role of the cultural and tourism association, systematically upgrading the professional competence and service standards of cultural and tourism practitioners, diversifying tourism offerings, and continuously refining the overall visitor experience to boost satisfaction. Additionally, we must firmly establish a strong safety awareness, strengthen tourism safety monitoring and risk assessment, and build an all-around, robust safety framework—effectively acting as a "safety umbrella" for tourists—to ensure that the county's cultural and tourism market remains stable, secure, and well-organized.

At the meeting, departments and townships—including the Hengguan Center, the Culture and Tourism Bureau, the Culture and Tourism Company, the Culture and Tourism Association, Yong'an Town, Nan Yuyang, and Qingciyao—presented reports on the achievements of summer, National Day, and Mid-Autumn Festival cultural and tourism initiatives, as well as on existing challenges, lessons learned, and suggestions for improvement. They also shared insights and exchanged ideas with attending leaders, collectively brainstorming strategies to further boost the county's cultural and tourism industry development.

This summer and during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, our county meticulously planned a variety of cultural activities, enriched tourism offerings to strengthen our brand, and innovatively enhanced service quality and support systems. As a result, both visitor numbers and economic returns at scenic spots saw double-digit growth—surpassing previous historical peaks. Meanwhile, the structure of our overall revenue continued to improve, while the synergistic effects of industry integration became increasingly evident. Notably, the "Culture + Tourism" strategy has yielded remarkable results, with revenues from emerging business models experiencing explosive growth. All these developments have propelled our county’s cultural and tourism market to a new level of prosperity. (Zhang Ji)
