Friendly Reminder for the Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area on the Qingming Festival in 2026


Dear Visitors:

The spring breeze is mild and the mountain scenery is fresh. In order to create a safe, orderly, civilized, and comfortable holiday tourism environment, and in accordance with the relevant requirements of higher authorities on limited-capacity, staggered-peak, safe, and civilized travel during the Qingming Festival holiday, as well as considering the actual situation of the Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area, the following reminders are hereby issued regarding tourism services during the 2026 Qingming Festival holiday (April 4–6):

I. Opening Arrangements and Operating Hours (April 4–6)

To facilitate visitors’ spring outings and sightseeing, scenic areas will extend their operating hours during the holiday. The specific arrangements are as follows:

1. Core attraction: Hengshan Mountain 7:30–17:00; Hanging Temple Yong’an Temple, Yuanjue Temple, Confucian Temple, and Li Family Noble Tomb: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

2. Transportation and Ticketing: Hengshan Mountain Visitor Center Ticket sales: 7:00–16:30; shuttle buses to Hengshan Mountain: 7:00–16:30; shuttle buses to the Hanging Temple: 7:00–17:00.

3. Cableway Operations: Hengshan Mountain Cable Car 7:30–17:30.

4. Important notice: Starting April 7, Hengshan Mountain and the Hanging Temple will remain temporarily closed (expected to be until April 20). Please plan your itinerary accordingly.

II. Tour Itinerary and Shuttle Guidance

1. Core transfer: All visitors must transfer to the shuttle bus at the Hengshan Tourist Center to head for the main Hengshan Scenic Area or the Hanging Temple. It is recommended that self-driving tourists park their vehicles in the tourist center parking lot and take the shuttle bus into the park to avoid congestion.

2. Hiking and Riding:

Main scenic area of Hengshan Mountain: You can choose to hike up the mountain (it is recommended to act within your capabilities) or take a shuttle bus to the core area, then transfer to a cable car or walk.

Hanging Temple: Access is via a shuttle bus from the Visitor Center. Please ensure you are in good health before ascending, and adhere to all safety guidelines during your visit.

3. Peripheral分流: During holidays, visitor flows are concentrated; it is recommended to prioritize visiting the Hanging Temple, Yong’an Temple Visit these attractions during off-peak hours; tourists who have not secured a reservation for climbing the Hanging Temple may first experience the “Wandering in Hunyuan” digital project, or head to Hunyuan Ancient City Visit cultural heritage sites.

III. Reservations, Ticket Purchases, and Park Entry Guidelines

1. Real-name reservation: Tickets are subject to real-name reservation. You can make a reservation 7 days in advance via the “Beiyue Yunyou” mini-program or the “Hengshan Scenic Area” WeChat official account, or purchase tickets through platforms such as Ctrip and Meituan. The number of tickets for climbing the Hanging Temple is limited each day, so it is recommended to grab tickets in advance (tickets are released at 7:20 every day).

2. Convenient Admission: Upon successful reservation, simply scan your ID card to enter the park; if you do not have your ID card with you, scan the QR code to generate an admission ticket; minors and international visitors are required to use the staffed entrance or present valid identification for entry as per regulations.

3. Itinerary Adjustments: If you need to change your park entry time slot, please cancel your original reservation and rebook before the reservation deadline. Visitors who were unable to secure a reservation are advised to visit during off-peak hours or adjust their itinerary.

IV. Transportation and Safety Tips

1. Traffic control: From April 4 to 6, temporary traffic control will be implemented on the road sections around the Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area on National Highway 239. It is recommended that self-driving tourists prioritize public transportation or follow the “Hunyuan Traffic Police” official account to learn about real-time traffic conditions.

2. Safe Tourism:

In spring, mountain areas experience strong winds and large temperature fluctuations; please bring windproof and warm clothing and wear non-slip footwear. When hiking, pace yourself and refrain from entering restricted or unopen areas without authorization.

Strictly comply with forest fire prevention regulations: do not carry any sources of ignition, do not smoke in violation of rules, and protect the ecological environment.

Prohibited items for entry: pets, tents, flying devices, flammable and explosive hazardous materials, and the like.

3. Emergency Assistance: The scenic area’s 24-hour service hotline is 0352-8333037; in case of emergency, please dial 110, 120, or 119.

V. Civilized Travel and Warm Tips

1. Civilized Tomb-Sweeping: Honor our ancestors by adopting civilized practices such as offering flowers and conducting remote memorial rites during spring outings; refrain from burning joss paper or setting off firecrackers in forested areas and scenic spots.

2. Cultural Heritage Protection: Treat historical sites with care; do not climb on or touch cultural relics, and refrain from graffiti. When visiting protected sites such as the Hanging Temple, follow on-site instructions and remain quiet.

3. Green Travel: Practice the “Clean Plate Campaign” and avoid food waste; refrain from littering and damaging vegetation, so that civility and natural beauty can go hand in hand.

4. Peak-avoidance recommendations: Visit the park before 9:00 a.m. or after 3:00 p.m. to steer clear of the midday crowd peak; follow the scenic area’s official WeChat account to stay updated on advance ticket sales, weather conditions, and road traffic.

Hengshan Mountain is lush with greenery and exudes ancient charm. The scenic area will dynamically release the latest service information. We wish you a safe, civilized, and memorable Qingming holiday!
