On the morning of September 26, the 2024 International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports Conference was grandly held in Xingyi City, Guizhou Province. At the opening ceremony, the International Mountain Tourism Alliance officially released the "World Famous Tourism Mountains - Certification Standards" and "World Famous Tourism Mountains - Certification Guide," and announced the first batch of 14 World Famous Tourism Mountains:

Wu Bihu, a member of the expert committee of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance and director of the Tourism Research and Planning Center of the School of Urban and Environmental Studies, Peking University, introduced that the certification of famous tourism mountains has a complex set of standards and mechanisms. The basic conditions are that it possesses mountain tourism resources, including natural and cultural resources, and has undergone a long period of human activity and cultural accumulation.
Hengshan Mountain, one of the Five Great Mountains of China, with its main peak, Tianfeng Ridge, located in Hunyuan County, Shanxi Province, stands at an altitude of 2016.1 meters. Known as the "North Pillar of Heaven and Earth" and "Famous Mountain of the Remote Frontier," its towering peaks and majestic momentum have earned it the title of the "Supreme Ruler of the Ten Thousand Mountains of the North." Since ancient times, it has been a famous scenic spot in northern China and an important birthplace of Taoism, representing the outstanding beauty of China's mountains and rivers, symbolizing the nation's prosperity, and serving as a totem of national spirit.
The Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area is one of the first 44 national scenic areas announced by the State Council in 1982. Covering an area of 122.38 square kilometers, it comprises thirteen sub-scenic areas with diverse functions and stunning scenery. Within the scenic area, there are seven nationally key cultural relics protection units and eight provincial cultural relics protection units. It is currently a national natural and cultural dual heritage site and a national AAAAA-level tourist area.
The Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area is not only dotted with numerous historical sites and relics but also boasts unique natural landscapes. Here, layers of cliffs rise steeply, with strange rocks and boulders forming a unique "woodcut-style" mountain appearance. Lush pines and cypresses, dense shrubs, and exotic flowers and plants create a natural botanical garden, resulting in beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons.
Along with receiving the honorary title of World Famous Tourism Mountain, Hengshan Mountain has also been selected as part of the "International Mountain Hiking Tourism Demonstration Route (Hengshan Mountain Section of the Five Great Mountains Hiking Route)."

Mu Yanfei won the third prize in the Shanxi Provincial Tour Guide Competition
Recently, our city commended and encouraged the award-winning contestants who participated in the 4th Shanxi Provincial Tour Guide Competition. On March 26th, a 2025 earthquake relief and rescue comprehensive drill, organized by the Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area Management Center, was held at the Yuemenwan Scenic Area. The drill simulated a real earthquake scenario to test the scientific nature of the emergency plan and strengthen the collaborative combat capabilities of multiple departments.
To beautify Hunyuan Ancient City, promote tourism development, purify students' minds, and cultivate civilized habits, on the afternoon of March 20, some students from our school's first grade went to the Hengshan Mountain Tourist Service Center to carry out social practice and volunteer service activities.

On the afternoon of November 13th, the Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area Management Center Trade Union Member Representative Conference was successfully held in the multi-functional conference room on the fourth floor of the Hengguan Center. Pei Yanyun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area Management Center, presided over the meeting.
