1. The Hanging Temple is a purely wooden, cantilevered ancient structure and one of the world’s ten most spectacular and perilous buildings. To strengthen cultural relic protection, in accordance with the “Hanging Temple Conservation Plan” and relevant regulations, starting April 1, 2026, the daily visitor quota will be capped at 2,475 tickets, with future supply gradually reduced year by year.
2. A total of 1,200 tickets will be sold online, including 150 free tickets (for those aged 60 and above), 50 special tickets (for active military personnel and people with disabilities), and 50 student tickets for current university students. A total of 1,275 tickets will be sold offline (638 in the morning and 637 in the afternoon), including 200 free tickets (100 in the morning and 100 in the afternoon).
3. Online reservations for 登临 (climbing) tickets are available daily from 7:20 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for visits within the next 7 days. Offline ticket sales are limited to same-day tickets only: morning sessions begin half an hour before park opening, while afternoon sessions start at 12:00 p.m., and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis until they sell out.
4. To ascend the tower, you must purchase both an admission ticket and a tower access ticket simultaneously; for other ticketing rules, please refer to the ticketing page.
5. Revenue from admission tickets is primarily used for cultural relic protection, and the scenic area adjusts the number of free tickets available while still accommodating certain groups that are exempt from ticket fees.
6. Online tickets are primarily sold through the “Beiyue Yunyou” mini-program (tickets for overseas tourists are authorized via the Trip.com platform, and student tickets are authorized via the Alipay platform; other platforms have not been authorized). Offline ticket windows are located at the Hengshan Visitor Center, and both ticket purchase and verification require real‑name registration. Please do not trust ticket purchase promises made by other platforms or individuals to avoid jeopardizing your own rights and interests.
Friendly Reminder: The Hanging Temple is an elevated cliffside structure; ascending it may easily trigger feelings of vertigo, dizziness, and other adverse reactions. Visitors aged 70 or older, weighing 100 kg or more, or those with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, stroke, etc.), moderate to severe respiratory conditions, or any physical condition that makes climbing high altitudes or engaging in strenuous exercise inadvisable are not recommended to ascend for their own safety.
Thank you for your interest in and support of the Hanging Temple!
