In order to fully implement the requirements for rectifying issues identified in feedback from A-level scenic areas across the province and to solidly carry out key tasks such as ensuring safety, enhancing services, and maintaining order in the cultural and tourism market during the 2026 “May Day” holiday, the Hengshan Management Center convened a special meeting on rectifying issues from provincial A-level scenic area feedback and a work coordination meeting for the “May Day” holiday on the morning of April 30. Cao Qilong, Party Secretary and Director of the Hengshan Management Center, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Members of the center’s leadership team, representatives from various relevant departments and offices, Hengshan Culture and Tourism Company, Hengzhong Passenger Transport Company, and Hanging Temple The heads of the Yuemen Bay and Hengzong scenic areas attended the meeting.

During the first phase of the meeting, Comrade Cao Qilong delivered a focused briefing on the spirit of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s regular first-quarter press conference for 2026, the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism’s meeting on advancing the special rectification campaign targeting irregular practices by tour guides and compulsory consumption in the tourism industry, the notices issued by the forest and grassland fire prevention and control command centers at the city, provincial, and county levels regarding forest and grassland fire safety during the “May Day” holiday, and the deployment meetings on cultural and tourism work during the “May Day” holiday held at the city and county levels. The meeting emphasized that all participants must elevate their political awareness, ensure that their thinking and actions are fully aligned with the decisions and arrangements of higher authorities, and, with a strong sense of responsibility and mission, coordinate and advance efforts related to problem rectification, safety management, and service support, so as to guarantee the safe, orderly, high-quality, and efficient operation of the cultural and tourism market during the holiday.

At the meeting, each responsible unit reviewed the list of issues identified in the province-wide feedback on A-rated scenic areas and reported, one by one, on the corrective measures taken, the progress of the work, and the interim results achieved. All units adhered to a unified approach that is problem-oriented, goal-oriented, and results-oriented, refined and improved the corrective action ledger, specified clear deadlines and defined responsibilities for each task, implemented a case-closure management system, and ensured that all identified issues are thoroughly rectified, completely resolved, and brought down to zero—resolutely preventing superficial or incomplete remediation that leaves blind spots unaddressed.

The heads of Hengshan Mountain Culture and Tourism Company, the Hanging Temple, and the Yuemen Bay Scenic Area successively reported on the preparations for cultural and tourism service guarantees during the “May Day” holiday. They provided detailed updates on key measures such as passenger flow forecasting and analysis, transportation capacity allocation, upgrading of service facilities, and safety risk management and control. They also proactively identified and addressed urgent bottlenecks and challenges that require coordination, making every effort to ensure safe and orderly operations at the scenic areas and high-quality, efficient services for visitors.

The development and reform department reported on the progress of infrastructure and supporting project construction in the scenic area, with a focus on completing the final stages of pre-opening projects, conducting completion inspections and acceptance, and making preparations for commissioning. They have implemented strict reverse scheduling, visual management, and accountability measures to ensure that the scenic area’s infrastructure meets operational needs during the holiday, providing visitors with convenient and comfortable sightseeing conditions. The cultural research department gave a special report on the integrated cultural and tourism design plan for the Yuemen Bay–Hengzong Walking Trail, which is based on the unique cultural and tourism resources of Hengshan Mountain, deeply explores the cultural connotations of the Northern Yue, and strives to create new, distinctive, and immersive cultural and tourism experiences.

The meeting also specifically reviewed the design proposal for scenic-area signage, with a focus on standardization, uniformity, clarity, ease of understanding, and regional characteristics, while refining design details to comprehensively enhance the overall recognizability of the scenic area and improve the visitor experience. During the exchange and discussion session, each participating unit, in light of its own responsibilities, engaged in in-depth exchanges and offered constructive suggestions on such areas as rectifying problems and improving quality, enhancing the effectiveness of holiday-season support, upgrading the quality of scenic areas, and innovating cultural and tourism business models, thereby further consolidating collaborative efforts, refining implementation measures, and establishing an efficient working framework characterized by vertical coordination, horizontal collaboration, and joint governance.

Comrade Cao Qilong delivered a concluding speech, emphasizing that rectifying the issues identified in feedback from A-rated scenic areas is a crucial lever for promoting high-quality development of the county’s cultural and tourism industry. He further noted that ensuring smooth operations during the “May Day” holiday serves as an important platform for assessing the effectiveness of our work and showcasing the image of the county’s cultural and tourism sector. All units must earnestly elevate their political awareness, strengthen their sense of responsibility and commitment, and approach all tasks with a steadfast sense of duty—“never feeling fully at ease”—and unwavering execution—“ensuring that every task is thoroughly implemented”—to ensure that every aspect of our work is carried out meticulously and effectively.

First, we must rigorously and pragmatically carry out rectification efforts to drive continuous improvement. We will maintain unwavering focus on the problem checklist, refine specific rectification measures, strengthen supervision and inspection, establish long-term mechanisms, and resolutely prevent any resurgence of problems, thereby using solid rectification to comprehensively enhance the quality of services and management at scenic areas.

Second, we must rigorously and meticulously uphold the safety bottom line to ensure safe operations. We must firmly embrace the principle of “putting the people first and life above all else,” closely monitor key areas such as forest and grassland fire prevention, special equipment safety, fire safety, passenger flow management, and responses to extreme weather, conduct comprehensive, grid-style inspections and rectification of potential hazards, refine emergency response plans, strengthen emergency drills, and resolutely prevent and curb all types of safety incidents.

Third, we must pool our efforts and ensure effective implementation to drive development through practical action. All units and departments should perform their respective duties, collaborate closely, and work in synergy, employing a rigorous work style and pragmatic measures to ensure that all tasks are carried out and yield tangible results. We will strive to continuously enhance the high-quality development of Hengshan’s cultural and tourism industry, laying a solid foundation and providing strong support for the creation of a 5A scenic area.
