On May 24, immediately following the convening of the provincial and municipal safety production committee’s plenary (expanded) meeting, our county promptly held its own county‑wide safety production committee plenary (expanded) meeting to conduct an in‑depth analysis of the current safety production situation and to re‑arrange, re‑deploy, and re‑implement safety production measures across the entire county.

County Party Secretary Zhao Yuqing attended the meeting and addressed the attendees. Zhao Xiang, a member of the County Party Committee Standing Committee and Deputy County Governor, presided over the session. County leaders Lei Yingchun, Hu Peng, Qiao Pu, Li Qian, Jia Xuehua, Fu Yuanjin, Zhao Zhu, Zhang Shujun, Wang Wuming, and Li Yulu were also in attendance.

The meeting called for all levels and departments across the county to: First, clearly recognize the current situation and maintain constant vigilance in workplace safety. Elevate political awareness, draw profound lessons from the coal‑mine gas explosion in Qinyuan County, Changzhi City, keep the alarm ringing, and firmly uphold the development philosophy of putting the people first, valuing life above all else, and prioritizing safety. Take each case as a cautionary tale, learn from one incident to prevent others, and implement every aspect of workplace safety with the strictest standards, the most concrete measures, and the steadiest work ethic. Ensure that all safety‑control measures are meticulously put into practice, resolutely safeguarding the bottom line of preventing serious and extremely serious accidents, and truly fulfilling the responsibilities of guarding, shouldering, and performing one’s duties in this regard. Second, act proactively without waiting or relying on others; conduct self‑inspections. Break free from habitual thinking, take the initiative to identify risk points in your respective areas, integrate workplace safety into routine operations, establish detailed checklists and records, ensure no blind spots remain in inspections and no perfunctory rectifications are carried out, and promote the early detection, prompt handling, and complete elimination of all potential safety hazards. Third, assume full responsibility and work together to protect the overall safety environment of Hunyuan. Improve and refine the unified leadership mechanism for workplace safety by including all members of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee in the expanded meetings of the County Safety Committee, thereby strengthening coordinated oversight. Each deputy county magistrate in charge should promptly convene meetings to systematically deploy and meticulously arrange safety‑inspection and remediation efforts within their respective domains. In particular, as a major county for culture and tourism, the cultural and tourism authorities must immediately hold a meeting to lay out safety‑work arrangements, closely monitor key areas such as scenic spots and cultural venues, and eliminate any complacency. All units must coordinate and collaborate to uphold the safety baseline, providing solid support for the county’s economic and social development.

The meeting emphasized that all levels and departments must promptly implement the spirit of this session, rigorously ensure effective execution, further heighten vigilance, and intensify accountability in fulfilling their duties, resolutely overcoming complacency and wishful thinking. Work on workplace safety must be closely integrated with daily operations and advanced on a sustained, routine basis. Priority should be given to key areas, with unwavering adherence to safety red lines; leading agencies and inspection units must coordinate closely to ensure that measures are effectively put into practice and yield tangible results.

At the meeting, the head of the County Emergency Management Bureau outlined and deployed the county-wide special campaign to identify, address, and rectify safety production risks and hazards.

The principal officials of the member units of the County Safety Production Committee and relevant departments, the Party secretaries of all townships, and the chief executives of pertinent enterprises attended the meeting. (Zhang Xiaotian)
